Behind the Sound

Amber Jeanseau is a Southern California singer-songwriter, producer and recording artist whose music lives between alternative pop, pop-rock and confessional singer-songwriter storytelling. Originally from East Tennessee, Amber began as a poet before turning to songwriting, eventually expanding her craft into recording and production.

She studied recording engineering under Charles Gutierrez, professor at USC, and Nancy Allen, an engineer whose credits include Oingo Boingo, developing the technical foundation that would later allow her to move behind the console and produce her own music. Her vocal training includes study with Dr. Carol Clary and Jenn Forbes, further shaping an approach to singing that puts storytelling and emotional connection at the center of the performance.

Amber’s songs pair candid, sometimes darkly funny observations about love and everyday life with melodic pop, guitars and synth-driven

 production. A self-described “self-help lyricist,” she writes about the complicated, often messy process of loving, losing, changing and starting again, creating songs that invite listeners to recognize something of their own lives in them and, perhaps, feel a little more empowered to grow, rebuild and move forward.
